For the academic year 2009/2010, SISSA offers the possibility of obtaining
the Ph.D. degree in the following fields:

Mathematical Analysis (4 positions)
Mathematical Physics (4 positions)
Neuroscience – Cognitive Neuroscience (6 positions)
Neuroscience – Neurobiology (9 positions)
Physics and Chemistry of Biological Systems (6 positions)
Statistical Physics (5 positions)
Theory of Elementary Particles (5 positions)
Theory and Numerical Simulation of Condensed Matter (8 positions)


The School offers grants (currently € 1.040,00 net/month approximately),
depending on the amount of funds available, to students who have made a
specific request in their application. The grant is awarded for three
years, extendable for a fourth year subject to approval by the School
authorities and to the availability of funds. A contribution towards
living expenses of the amount of € 1.200,00 gross per year will also be
awarded to those who will submit a regular rent contract.
